Content Creation Intern | Elopement Planning Company Based in Barcelona
As a Content Creation Intern for Somewhere Crazy, a boutique elopement planning company based in Barcelona, I was responsible for developing and curating digital content that captured the brand’s adventurous, romantic spirit. Through the Absolute Internship program, I gained international marketing experience and built a strong foundation in social media strategy, visual storytelling, and brand consistency.
My primary focus was on Instagram, where I helped plan and execute content calendars featuring client love stories, destination highlights, and behind-the-scenes footage from wedding days. I designed graphics and edited photo carousels and reels using Canva Pro and Adobe tools, ensuring each post aligned with the brand’s visual identity and emotionally resonated with its audience.
I also assisted with TikTok and utilized CapCut to edit and create videos. After editing clips, I would publish them to YouTube Shorts and Pinterest, as well, popular spots for the target audience. Analyzing trends played a huge role in the success of this content.
I also researched and proposed new content themes to improve engagement, such as vendor spotlights and travel tips for couples planning destination elopements. Collaborating remotely with the founder and small team, I adapted my communication and creative processes to meet deadlines and maintain brand cohesion across time zones. I was also given the opportunity to assist with blog writing and drafting destination descriptions for their website. This taught me a lot about SEO and intentional wording.
Throughout my internship, I strengthened my ability to create content with purpose, balancing aesthetic appeal with engagement strategy and brand storytelling. Key tasks included:
Interning with Somewhere Crazy was a great opportunity to explore a different perspective and see the impact of intentional, story-driven content. Working with such a niche brand taught me how to stay consistent with voice and aesthetic while designing for real engagement. It pushed me to think creatively within constraints, choosing the right visuals, words, and timing to bring a moment to life online, while also bringing in my own voice and offering an American perspective. This foundation added to how I currently approach content creation across all industries.
